Stone Letter Carving

While in college I had the great fortune to study calligraphy and stone letter carving with a master from the John Stevens Shop. I enjoy the physical process with stone letter carving. There are no short cuts or special tools. You must be patient, careful and precise. One improper strike of the hammer to chisel can ruin an entire stone. In a world full of disposable products and digital screens, stone provides an object that will last a forever.
